| Introduction: The Rapid Allweiler type DV (DIN Vertical) vertical spindle centrifugal pumps are constructed using the volute casing and impeller of our standard NS range centrifugal pumps and thus the performance can be obtained from the DIN 24255 series graphs. The DV pumps are the result of many years experience in pump design and practical applications. These pumps are 100% South-African manufactured and designed. Extremely reliable and robust. They are virtually maintenance free and will ensure years of trouble-free operation. |
| Construction: The DV pumps are of the vertical spindle design with the motor mounted at the top and the hydraulic ends at the bottom. The pump has a heavy shaft supported by two heavy duty ball bearings in the column. The pump column is sealed by means of a double mechanical seal arrangement in the oil chamber at the lower end. This seal arrangement allows the pumps to handle liquids with solids in suspension and the pumps can also be run dry for short periods. |
